Yesterday was Easter, it was a pretty good day, we started it off a little too early for my liking but it was fine. I stayed up until after 1 making cinnamon rolls so we could have them for breakfast. They turned out great and I was totally happy that I had just made a 1/2 batch instead of the full one. We still have lots left over. The kids got their "easter baskets" well easter piles, I apparently put our Easter baskets in the wronge area in our old house before we moved so we didn't have any baskets:( The kids got 4 plastic eggs full of candy, a chocolate bunny, a stuffed animal and a book.
Nick and Stephanie came over for lunch, so I made a spiral ham, green beans, mashed potatoes and she brought mac & cheese. After lunch we cut into Justin's birthday cake. I had ordered a rectangle strawberry cake from Baskin Robbin's with no decorations when I went to pick it up they had made it chocolate mint chip with decorations. So I asked if they could just remake it and they said their cake maker wasn't in and maybe I could come back on Saturday to get it, so I went to the freezer and they had a cake that said it was strawberry so I grabbed it, so what if it looked like an East Bunny. Well Justin cut into it to find caramel praline. Nobody ended up eating it. I called them and they said basically I was out of luck.
Korbin played with a few of his friends in the late afternoon and he got his face pained like a bunny. I wasn't too excited about that but he was so I just went with it;afterall he had come in and asked if he could get a picture painted on his cheek.
Dying the eggs was pretty fun, I have never done this with the kids so it was fun to actually get to do it! I couldn't remember how to boil eggs, I can make almost any pastry just fine but ask me to boil eggs and I run to the computer to google. I know...We made a dozen of beautiful eggs. Korbin of course only decorated 2 or 3 b/c he was so careful to get the stickers just right and Kane decorated the others in a few seconds by throwing stickers on not paying attention to make sure then were stuck on good or straight or anything.
