I struggle with trying to juggle everything, I have 3 kids all 3 are in gymnastics, one is in cub scouts, 1 goes to school all day, 1 will be going to preschool a few days a week, 1 have MOPS, I have Bible Study, I have work and all that goes with it, I have Justin's work stuff, and I have the house... can you guess what takes a back seat? The house, that's right!
In 2003 as I was trying to figure out how the mom thing went our house fell apart, well not by today's standards but by our standards at that time, the floors weren't mopped everyday anymore, I didn't dust every week, I cooked all the meals basically but I started to leave a few dishes in the sink. One night I sat awake at 3 in the morning crying because I couldn't figure out how to juggle it all, I stumbled upon Flylady and that night I stayed up, finally gazing into the sunrise (and watching our homicidal deer in the yard) I had a clean sink.
I followed Flylady's methods closely and held out during our move to Fort Leonard Wood. I kept up the system (for the most part) and we settled into our new chaotic house, maybe not as inspection ready as before but still clean and healthy. During the next few years I started to develop my own system, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't...
Now I sit here today in my bed room looking around, there are laundry baskets full of clean & folded clothes, my shower is unspeakably moldy and I have an entire book of stamps stuck to my kitchen floor (thanks Katara!) If you were to look at a picture of my house today and my house when Korbin was a baby you couldn't recognize it (well obviously that was nearly 3 houses ago!)
So my challenge for you, dear friends and family is:
Give me a housekeeping/home sanity tip. It doesn't have to be long or profound but what makes your house run?
I've got to run I have load #5 in the washer right now, I should have just hauled everything to the laundry mat, I would have been done by now :) Weekends are hard!

I know you are overwhelmed - there was just an article in the HCP about the "Fly Lady". You need to remember that you have a lot on your plate & don't expect too much of yourself. There are only so many hours in a day & your little guys are growing so fast - take time to smell the roses & enjoy those babies to the fullest. You are a great Mom - so what if the house isn't perfect. One day you will be like Dad & I . . . , if the house is a mess we've only got ourselves to blame & it really isn't that much fun.
Ditto to everything your mom said. xoxo Julie
I too am going with what your mom said. I try to do something, one thing, each day. So..today I swept the kitchen floor. Yesterday I vacuumed the upstairs. My main goal has been to cook healthy meals for all of us and enjoy. The dishes sat in the sink for a day. I hated that, but my 17 year old (while Daniel and I were both at meetings) cleaned the kitchen. That was amazing and rare. I would just say that you are doing what God has called you to do. ENJOY the kids they grow up too fast. It will all get done eventually. You are the only one that is putting the pressure on yourself. It all goes away and changes just way too fast.
