Well so far we have stayed at a Ramada in Triange (which was my mistake...it's not my fault my schedule was changed) the hotel at Quantico and now this Holiday Inn here in Frederick (I think). If you aren't interested in reading hotel reviews move on this is basically for a FYI for us in the future.
The Ramada was a disaster, maybe it was the fact it was 2 am and we had trouble finding an open gate and then after we finally found one, winding our way to the Crossroads while dodging massive amounts of deer we discover that our reservation was for the next day and there was no room there for us. The Ramada was pretty dirty think hair in the bathtub dirty, however their internet was great!
The Crossroads at Quantico was great, I didn't want to leave, we had a suite which meant I could put Katara down for a nap and still watch tv and "do my homework". It was clean and I had a stove to do my labs on, another plus. However without a car I was feeling pretty alone, and with J's attitude about the area I wasn't really encouraged to venture out on my own. I ordered food from some chinese place that the lady at the front desk recommended but it was horrible the only thing we ate was the dumplings. We got fried rice, Katara yelled YAY!!! and then tasted it and spit it out, I basically did the same :( I think it was Fuengs or something like that with the maroon colored flyer. The girls at the front desk were great as well, Katara locked me out when I was in my underwear and what do you know it wasn't even a minute and she was there out of breath with my key so I could save some face!
This Holiday Inn is great, A. because it is next to a mall (hello shopping!!!) and B. well there really is no b, but I guess I just like to do 2 points. It is clean and the beds are super comfy, it is right off the interstate so when I have to drive home on Monday there will be minimal tears shed as our borrowed gps (thank you, thank you, thank you) tells me where to go.
On that note let's talk GPS, I think they are the reason why couples who travel stay married. The only reason why we got this far in our marriage is no thanks to me, my map reading skills suck and thanks to google maps and programs of the such we have made numerous trip but never to an area with traffic this bad. This little machine as I like to call it tells us where to go. Today while trying to find the metro station it told us to turn and then 400 yards turn again, but there road sign was gone so if we had been reading a map I would have missed telling JB where to go thus starting the bitter stinging tears of map reading failure. It is amazing and ideally we could have enough money to buy each of our family memebers and loved ones a "little machine" of their own. The only downfall to these is simple...sometimes you just go to where it says to go. Today it told us to go to a certain road and we did only to find nothing to do with the metro system, it was a uhaul place, if we had a traditional map I would get yelled at and we'd turn around, however with this helpful little machine we decided it was best to get out and see. So I go in and say our gps said this was the metro station but I am pretty sure this isn't it, could you please tell me where to go? He looked at me and laughed at me (in pity of course) and told me where it was, and what do you know I clicked a few buttons on the little machine and it said the station we needed! SUCCESS!
All in all my trip to the Quantico area was a little disappointing, I had planned on seeing a bunch of things DC attractions as well as the Marine Corps Museum...that didn't get done however I did get to eat Chick-fil-a and go to Target and WalMart. Their apartment was nice and the area even nicer, I think it was Dumfries...maybe not like I said I stared at my little machine the whole way there ;) Woodbridge made me want to cry, I can't even begin to count all the wrecks/nearly wrecks we saw.
I missed the boys so much, they would have loved seeing all of the deer but I am glad they aren't here because days like yesterday and today would have been torture for them, plus with them gone and me missing them so much they got tons of junk at the stores.
Tomorrow is the wedding and then Monday morning we are leaving, then only about a week before we head back home. Like Kane says I miss my home sweet home. I miss the laid back way of life there, who cares if I am 15 min late anyways! I'm sure by now only my mom and maybe Jes have made it this far so thank you guys for loving the boys and keeping them entertained, they were so excited to make the decision to stay back on their own and they are completely happy with it. Well while I was typing my paper didn't get any further and Katara is now cheweing 3 sticks of gum with her binky in her mouth as well as being covered in Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion. Gotta go for now.
loves ;)
**almost forgot, if you called our hotel and left a message for me to call you back email me I don't know who you are but am suspecting it was left for the wrong room because I can't think of anybody I know with that area code

We have certainly had a wonderful time with KK & KA - they are such fun little guys. They had a good Sunday - came back to 113 after church with Grammy & Grandpa B. Ashlyn & Dugan joined us soon & the fun began. Cousins are definitely reconnected!! Last night we did a couple of cooking projects. Gigi & Uncle Randi supervised making homemade pizza; then PawPaw & Uncle Randi made & fried homemade donuts. All of the kids enjoyed helping & eating! Gigi & Uncle Randi each did different donuts - Randi's were from our favorite breadmaker recipe; Gigi's were biscuits. Not sure which was the best as I need to remain on neutral ground - we glazed part of them & cinnamon & sugared the rest. Kathy was here to help also - think she got into more than she intended! No, she seemed to enjoy it too.
Think that's the report from the Broemmer household this morning.
I always read ALL the way through ALL your posts. You are just so random on when you post that sometimes I'm a few days behind. I'm glad the "little machine" is worked well. Maybe it will convince JB to get one for Japan. I love you and I miss you so much all ready. Tell JB not to extend. No pressure. ;) xoxo
