Another Delivery!

MMMM let's see sweet potatoes, onions, salad greens, cucumber, tomato, green pepper, watermelon, passion fruit, egg fruit and bird of paradise flowers! That is what was in our sacks this week, it is like Christmas when the door bell rings, we all rush to the door to see what goodies are included in this weeks bags!

Here are a few things I made with last weeks loot:

~eggplant pasta dish I made up the recipe and it was probably the tastiest eggplant dish I ever had!!

~fresh pesto we put it on bagette slices AND pasta!!

~cucumbers & onions

~homemade french fries with ranch dressing OF COURSE!!

~green beans, potatoes, onions and smoked sausage all mixed together and cooked up YUM

~watermelon juice for breakfast 1 morning (sounds gross but is actually really refreshing especially if it is SUPER HOT!

~corn on the cob (almost as good as peaches & cream corn ya'll!)

~assorted fruits dipped in chocolate

~tomato slices with sugar, I hesitate to type this as J FREAKS out when I add sugar to something like this, but it was the first time in over 5 years of me doing this so give me a break here and it brings back good childhood memories

~salad, salad and more salad, think I'll make a few green smoothies this week too!

~the kids ate cucumbers dipped in ranch dressing I couldn't gag one down, I only like cucumbers if they have been marinated in the deliciousness that is the vinegar mixture, or covered in cream cheese with dill and on little pieces of crunchy toast (IDEA that is what I will do this week with them!!)

All in all I was a teeny bit disappointed in the flowers, I was kind of expecting bird of paradise which is cool b/c I do love them but mine were a little bit umm little and the greenery that was added to fill them out was really pretty but covered up the flowers and there is WAY more green than orange, but beggers can't be choosers huh? I mean come on I got great produce and didn't have to leave my house! Oh and the bananas from last week are FINALLY getting ripe and the one I shared with the kids was GREAT now I only wish I hadn't cut into that egg fruit b/c it was clearly not ripe yet. Anybody know any recipes that I can use and unripe egg fruit in? Maybe if I stir fry it and cover it in sauce it was be edible?
