When The Cat's Away, Things Will Break

So yesterday a little light came on in the car and I thought I smelled rubber burning, but I kept going b/c at times the light would go off. Since I have to drive with the kids in the car to Futenma like twice a week to get mail I thought I needed to get it checked out even though I figured the light was just a faulty bulb and the smell in my head. So I took it to Typhoon Motors today and the guy was SUPER nice and looked at it right away, good thing he did b/c the other guy thought it was probably an electrical problem and could wait until Monday. The guy popped the hood and the belt that spins for the generator or engine or whatever makes power wasn't spinning, it would jerk forward about 1/2 inch or so but the whole 3 or 4 min we stood there it didn't turn in a complete circle he then showed me how fast it should be working and that smell...it was our brand new belt getting burned. He said the harmony spinny part, not the technical term I know but something like that got stripped so it can't turn right. Our air stopped working this morning too and our windows wouldn't roll up by the time I got there so I guess I'm lucky I made it there at all.

The bad news... I guess it is like country wide vacation week or something and the place they gets parts from won't be open until May 7 and then he said most likely it's not a part they will have so we're looking at it getting fixed around May 15 or so. They were going to pull it inside since the windows wouldn't roll up. I asked the guy if they had rental cars b/c I would have to drive to Futenma to get our mail at least 2 times before then and the green line is REALLY hard with kids an boxes, so he gave me a loaner car! It is small but I actually REALLY like it and maybe when J gets back we'll have to find him one like it. The carseats BARELY fit but I can get all 3 kids buckled in and that is fine for me, they also have childproof doors which is a plus and the air, oh the air conditioning is GLORIOUS!

I am loving the covers on the car seats! Looks a little crowded, but it works! Thank goodness he had a loaner for you! WOW.
