So today I decided we would try to make buck eyes. I was going to make cookies but Kane gets too impatient waiting for the cookies so I thought that would be a good project for when he is napping or in bed at night. So I dug out my recipe cards... thanks Aunt Lillie! I had Korbin help get the ingredients out, and we mixed them in my super mixer, which by the way STILL hasn't been fixed from our gracious TMO team. So when step 1 was completed it was time for Step 2, the kids washed their hands and put a few more clothes on and we began. The "dough" was a little dry so it was crumbling everywhere, good thing I got my Dyson vacuum for my birthday! The kids rolled their balls, some were about the size of a pebble and some the size of a ping pong ball, most weren't really balls at all more like little lop sided boxes! When Step 2 was complete I moved on to Step 3 and left the kids literally licking up what was left of step 2! I got the chocolate chips out and started to melt them in my new pan and stainless steel bowl, thanks LaRay & Warren, they worked great! I melted the chocolate and started dipping the balls. I soon realized how much easier this would be something longer than a tooth pick and got out my cake tester, yet another good use for that thing, surprisingly I use it several times a week for various things! You must get one if you don't have it! I dipped them. While I was concentrating on dipping them Korbin starts gagging and running and I go into the bath room to find him spitting in the sink, he said that sugar tasted yucking not like sugar usually tastes. I go back into the kitchen only to find that they had my bag of flower down on the ground and were filling the empty peanut butter container and measuring cups with it! I was so involved with my dipping I hadn't even noticed. So I finished up and let them clean it up some, which in their world meant to dump the flour from the jar into the measuring cups and spoons. So when I was finished I let them each have a spoon with chocolate and I even licked a spoon. They were done! They turned out pretty good considering all the great help I had!
