Honesty Hurts...my checking account

At the px today I made several purchases post cards, a memory card, a dry erase board, a digital camera and a bath mat. When the lady checked me out she said your total is $52.80 so I swiped my card and signed trying to hurry so I could leave before she noticed she hadn't scanned the camera. As I put my debit card back in my wallet I looked at my kids, I know they wouldn've have known the difference of $298 I just couldn't do it. I don't want them to steal so I told the lady, I bought a camera and it is not enough and she looked at me so I got out the camera and said see not enough. She looked at me and I told her to scan it and see and sure enough it rang up $298, so I got out my debit card and swiped it again. She looked at me like I was a total nut job as did the lady behind me.

As I walked to the car I thought of all the fun things we won't be able to do b/c of our camera breaking but at the same time I also thought of the example I showed my kids. So tonight as I say my prayers I don't have to feel guilty I can thank God for pushing me towards the right thing, I can thank him for my triumph over satan.

As a side note I absolutely LOVE my new camera, but I am wishing now I hadn't given mom all those memory cards! Oh well I bought 1 card that should hold about 100 pics and it actually came with 1 that will hold about that many!!
