The boys had their first Basketball practice today and it went VERY well. Korbin did amazing! I think that football helped him get the concept of what it was all about, he was so cute dribbling, shooting and the stretches where my favorite part! Kane did good too, this was his first time "playing" a sport. For football we let him do some of the activities in the beginning but he got bored with most of them besides the throwing and catching. He did surprisingly good dribbling and shooting, he got tired about half way through and just wanted to be held. I think part of that was the EXTREME mold in the gym; think that old gym at Palmyra times about 1,000. So his nose holes were purple and it looked like he had purple eyeliner on and he couldn't quit rubbing his eyes. So next week we will do a breathing treatment and his zyrtec in the morning before we go. I hope that smell isn't a pre-view of what Korbin's school will smell like, if that is the case, hopefully we will move by the time my Kaney-bug gets there.
So now onto the Pickle explanation, the kids get to choose the name of their team for each sport, for football we were the Cowboys, they have green jersey's so the coach asked them what was green and of course cucumbers and pickles were the only thing mentioned besides kane's suggestion for a team name Kane Aubry Brehm. The coach thought he said apple blossom's so that was shot down right away.
No practice next week, but after that for the next 5 weeks or so we will be doing the whole basketball thing!
As a side note we were able to eat out today at a great noodle place, I got ramen in a white miso sauce with pork, a scoop of butter, corn and hard boiled eggs. Oh my it was wonderful, the boys got fried rice and of course being little "J.j's" they ate the free plain white steamed rice better than the expensive fried rice we bought them. We sat at a table outside and the warm soup was a great way to warm up. After that we walked down to the sea wall for a bit but it was really windy so we headed back home and we ALL took a 3 hour nap! I could get used to living like this!
