Today we had Korbin's birthday party, yes I know his birthday is Tuesday but it just works out better to have the party on a weekend. I think it was the week after his party last year that he started talking about his party for this year, he immediately decided that a mad scientist lab would be the perfect idea for a party.
We had the room downstairs reserved for his soiree but last night when I went in to move tables I was hit with the nearly the strongest mold smell I have ever smelt...it was nearly as bad as our old house after we were gone for a weekend, remember Mom and Claire? So we had to come up with an alternate location as I didn't really feel up to forcing an asthma attack on poor Kane. I had to wait until morning to see if we could just have it in our hallway, so that is where the party ended up!
We had a blast, we colored our own scientific lab aprons, build molecules out of tootsie rolls and toothpicks, did a static electricity balloon game, played pin the googles on the professor, made oobleck and watched a volcano "erupt". And what party would be complete without a pinata? So we had one FULL of candy and confetti (which was horrible to clean up but a HUGE thanks to the best neighbors in the world for helping clean up!) The oobleck was such a HUGE mess but the kids had so much fun it didn't matter, we never got around to making our bouncy balls but you know what I think everyone had lots of fun so it doesn't matter anyways!

You were talking about a mold smell & I do remember when you opened the door at FLW. Often think about the house & wonder if anyone was ever successful in getting to the bottom of that problem with housing!?!
It looks like everyone had a great time - I'm so happy. The party sounded wonderful. His green table was beautiful too. Can't wait to show the pics to PawPaw when he comes home.
Our incredible 2nd grandson will soon be 6 - wow! He has a lot of traits that I've seen before - you know another one a lot like the other one!
