When JB is gone the kids and I do a family fun night. We usually do this on Friday but unfortunately he was home on Friday so we did it tonight while he was on duty.
Tonight we went to watch an Chinese Acrobat Show on Kadnea... where are the pictures you ask? Well I can never be totally together my camera's batteries were dead never fear I am trying to find someone to send me some pictures from the show. We got there nearly an hour before the show started, which I knew was a risk with 3 kids (long waits=big headaches!) but I was so glad I got a parking spot right by the door and we got a seat that was about 6 rows from the stage. The show contained ladies spinning plates on sticks, juggling, balancing acts, a tall monocycle, a contortionist, and some awesome gymnastic feats! Katara got so excited when she saw the ladies doing their "bridges" that she squealed and during the contortionist act she grabbed her leg and pulled it up. Korbin loved the part where a man put a sword in his mouth and then balanced wine glasses on a bouncy ball Kane liked it when a man threw a heavy pot in the air (they said it was 30 lbs) and then would catch it on his neck and head and when he used a sword to pop a balloon. I enjoyed the whole thing but watching the kids enjoy it made it that much better!
After we got home I cooked hotdogs (which is something we NEVER have) I made rootbeer floats and then let the kids pick their chips of choice. I loaded up the plates and headed out to the balcony. My sweet picnic idea quickly turned sour when moths showed up around the lights, Korbin started crying Kane started screaming and ran in the house and Katara kept saying my feet and lifting them up off the ground and would cry if they touched the ground. So I loaded the plates and cups and we sat on the dining room floor to eat the rest of our dinner. After dinner I made some s'mores in the microwave, I thought they were great and so did Kane but Korbin said the first batch were too done and the second bactch were gooey enough... so Kane and I got double and Katara picked the chocolate and grahm crackers and ate those.
After our deliciously chaotic dinner I put up the tent, and that is where the kids are now... hopefully sleeping soundly by now. I'm left in the quiet house, except for the neighbors ghetto fabulous party music and my computer trying to avoid my homework at all costs but coming to terms with the fact that I need to get it done before midnight. Hopefully I can get pictures put up tomorrow some time as the internet is PAINFULLY slow.

Sounds fun- except for the moths. I hope the boys didn't try any of those sword tricks at home. :)
That was what I was thinking! I could see one of the boys saying look mommy! holding a knife and trying to do the trick. yikes! It sounds like so much fun, though!
My thoughts exactly - all knives need to be put in the highest cabinet you have! I know it must have been fun to watch their enthusiasm. S'mores - yummm - can you make them sugarfree?
