Happy Birthday Kane!!

Kane's birthday party was yesterday, I can't believe he is now. He has changed so much, yet he is still the same. He is one of the most easy going kids, but he also has developed his own ideas of how things should go. He is pretty tough too, he is relentless when wrestling, at times even wearing out some of the guys! He loves coffee and Diet Coke so much in fact that if I leave my cup laying around he will steal it. He has been known to suck down over half of a Venti Iced White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks in as little time as it takes for me to run and get a napkin. He loves ribs from Chili's and cheese pizza (dipped in ranch dressing of course!) His favorite color is blue. He loves the movie Finding Nemo and is convinced that Gill's name is Gilbert and refuses to accept that he may be wrong. He hates shoes and socks and wants to wear his orange "alligators" everywhere. He is convinced that if he has a cut or a bruise if he sits in the bathtub that it will heal up right that minute.

This past year he has conquered biting his nails, has never had an accident in bed, and learned to write his name. He still hates library story time and classroom crafts.

This year he had a hard time choosing a birthday theme, I was pushing for monster's but he couldn't decided between an ocean theme or dinosaurs. After what seemed like hours debating at the computer checking out party favors and decorations he chose dinosaurs. I asked him what kind of food he wanted and he said chocolate cake and bread. I made a chocolate cake and he picked the "Aunt Reva" icing with the almond flavoring (Aunt Lillie, Korbin and Justin agree with you on that subject!) then we got on the computer to look at dinosaur cakes and he chose one that he wanted me to make...my attempt didn't produce and exact replica of the cake but it was decent. He thought it was beautiful so that is all that matters. He really wanted a dinosaur battle scene on the cake with blood but I didn't really like that idea so we ended up just tipping a few over to make them dead!

Absolutely love the pictures - it helps us so much to be able to see what went on. You did a wonderful job on the cake! Yeah! Didn't inherit that talent from your Mom! Thank you so much for the good variety. So glad Kane's party was a success - he had been looking forward to it for such a long time.

All of Kane's little quirks are so cute. Aren't boys fun?! I especially love the "alligator" shoes and the dead dinos on the cake. Priceless.

You did such a great job on the cake!!!! John D. is obsessed with dinos and flipped when he saw the pictures. He was so excited. I wish we would have been there to celebrate with you guys. I also bet Kane would love riding on John D.'s Kota dino. Things were definitely easier when you were 20 minutes away. =( We hated it that you guys weren't home when we called on Kane's b-day but even more disappointed to hear that you didn't get the message we left on your machine. So strange. Jer and I were talking and that is like the third time that has happened. Tell everyone hello for us. We obviously still haven't gotten gifts out. It'll be like another Christmas in July or August, whenever they got there. Ugh. I'll be so happy when things around here calm down. Love you guys.
