On Monday we went to Kokosai Street and Justin finally got his Katara tattoo. Mario took him to this shop and we were so glad we talked to them about the tattoo's because the shop was so nice and clean, it seemed more like a spa or a fancy beauty shop instead of a tattoo shop. It's the nicest looking shop we have ever been to! Somebody who worked there had a little girl who was 7, her dad was Japanese and her mom was British so she spoke excellent English and Japanese, the boys had fun with her. She had to go to school so she left the boys some toys to play with. After he got inked we walked around for a while to try to find those last few presents we needed to buy so we could send home the rest of the gifts we bought...well we didn't find anything that would just jump out to us. I did find some cool things, a sea turtle that had been preserved so you could hang it on the wall was my favorite, it was beautiful but completely wrong and expensive! We also found little change purses that were frogs, they were disturbing but intriguing at the same time! We found lots of fresh fruits and veggie markets that left me feeling confused and after a good google session I managed to figure out what most of the foods were!
It started to rain and was coming up on 8:30 so we decided that we needed to get some dinner and come home. We found this little...and I mean little. Like there was a counter with 6 chairs and 1 table. We got taco rice and Okinawa Soba to share and the kids got an order of taco rice as well at the end the lady who apparently owns it with her husband gave us all fresh mandrin oranges...YUMMY, the boys ate all 4 of them minus the 2 sections I ate!
It was a fun night and I wished it was a weekend and early b/c I didn't get done shopping... imagine that! This street mall has more stores than a regular mall, part of it is in a tunnel that apparently has stores on top of it so there were LOTS to look at! Justin's tattoo turned out great and it is so fun to see how big the kids were at 1 week old, we have always done their handprints the minute they turned 1 week old, or close to it! Korbin's of course was the smallest, he had the shortest gestation of all 3 kids and was 6 lbs 8 oz, next was Kane 2nd longest in gestation who was 7 lbs 8oz and surprisingly the largest hand was Miss katara was weighed in at 7 lbs, depending on which medical record version you read some say 7 lbs 1 oz but the picture we took of her on the scale says 7 lbs. Korbin's is the blue one, Kane's is the black one and Katara's is purple. Some day he will get a tattoo that will wrap around the other shoulder and even out his chest... someday but not today!
I almost forgot after our dinner we went to Blue Seal ice cream and got ice cream, as usual Korbin picked one of the weirdest colored ice creams and ended up with sweet potato, there was one that looked like vomit after you have eaten rainbow sherbert and he wanted that one but I figured it was that soy bean curd stuff that is gross. Kane got rainbow sherbert, Justin and I got cookies and cream.
